Wimbledon

A short walk from Wimbledon station in London is one of our Japanese-Nordic mix Sticks’n’Sushi restaurants. The lights are dimmed, the tables are long and slim, and the chairs complete the Scandinavian feel, being none other than Wegener’s Kennedy chairs.

Like a rumbling carriage

When the Japanese cherry trees were blooming in the spring of 2012, we took another important step in our restaurant history—we opened a Sticks’n’Sushi restaurant in Wimbledon, South West London.

Our Wimbledon location was once used for carriage manufacturing, and this history has left a unique mark on the façade of the building, which we have taken care to restore. Under the long, twisted lamps are tables with wheels that can be locked, as well as chairs covered with dark leather. All the details come together to give you a sense that you are sitting in a horse-drawn carriage making its way through the English countryside. The take away and restaurant is open, and the long, wavy curtains conceal the exposed brick wall for a cosy backdrop.

The menu is our staple, filled with vegetables, meat, fish – and of course high-class sushi. There is something for everyone, regardless of whether they prefer raw or grilled. There is even a balanced mix of sushi, grilled delicacies, and colourful salads. The vegetables are fresh —and our presentations are innovative and appeal to the senses. As always, we offer desserts, Japanese beers, and sake (and if you prefer your raw fish with carbonated beverages, that can easily be arranged, too). So if you are looking for sushi in London, let us take care of you.
